Sharing Christ's love with each other and the world.
Lutheran Student Center at Texas Tech University
The Lutheran Student Center is located across 19th Street from the Texas Tech University campus. It is an oasis for study, fellowship, and being nurtured in the faith. Students gather each Sunday evening during the school year for a Bible study. The meals are provided by area churches. The study leader is the Rev. W. Jeff Jenkins, whose services are shared by the Lutheran Student Center with Redeemer Lutheran Church of Lubbock. About a dozen to fifteen students typically converge on the student center to enjoy the evening of food and Christian fellowship. They also take a break from dormitory life by accessing the center during the week for private or group study and/or some down time from their classes and homework.
Our congregation supports this ministry with an annual gift of $500. Generally, the ladies of the congregation send a meal for Supper on Sundays once each year!
